The Yard is Calling

I think today the yard will have a visit from me. I've been neglecting it, ignoring it, hoping it will go away. Ain't happenin'.

I have zero plants to go in my garden. Wal Mart is probably going to supply my product selections this year. I might swing by Southwood and see if they have produce plants. I go there so infrequently that all I know for sure is that they have trees.

Okra is top on my list of things to get going. I planted late last year. When the okra started coming in, Hubby was in India. Most of it went to waste. I should be kicked.

I forgot Thankful Thursday this week. On Thursday, I was too busy stressing over the dumb payroll accounting class to be thankful for much. On Friday I dropped the class. My life was suddenly full of vibrant color (despite the less than friendly TCC staff who had to deal with lines of students dropping classes). I'm thankful I decided to ditch the class.

Friday also brought grocery shopping. Bixby is home to a new Wal Mart Stupid Center, and I chose to donate all my money to them in exchange for a few groceries. For Wal Mart shopping, it wasn't half bad. The store wasn't crowded - unheard of for a Friday afternoon - it's still clean (give it a few more months) and I didn't have the Wal Mart Television Network screaming at me from every corner.

I made a quick stop at the Glenpool library (the staff at that branch is so friendly!) and picked up a couple of Elm Creek Quilters stories. Such nice stories. I also had one of Mary Jane Butter's books waiting for me, Mary Jane's Stitching Room. It's full of needlework - mostly things I wouldn't do - but has some other fun stuff worth checking out, starting with tatting.

I picked up a cute little craft tote at Wal Mart in Okmulgee last week specifically for Alatariel to use for quilting class. Next day, Quilt Sampler called to say that all the other enrollees in Q101 had withdrawn for various reasons. We've now rescheduled for the May class. Keep your fingers crossed that it makes this time!!!!
I also picked up some cute coordinates at the Okumlgee store (still has a real fabric department, thank goodness). At $2/yd, they aren't the best quality, but they were too kyewt to pass up. I'm hopeless addicted.

And, my car fiendishly switched to auto pilot yesterday and drove me - completely against my will, mind you - right into the Hobby Lobby parking lot! Of all things! It would not budge until I went into the store and returned with yet another bag of fabric. I must get that car into the shop as soon as possible. This is just not acceptable!

Wow, gorgeous fabrics! Sounds like you have your car well trained. Ours is trained to turn into Braum's whenever possible.

All the Braum's on my "regular routes" have been moved, so my car doesn't go there any more. Too bad. I like their milk.
