My Baby's 18

We stopped at Merritt's Bakery yesterday and picked up an Italian Cream cake. It's interesting. I'm not sure Ala liked it, but she didn't complain. It could be one of those "OK, I tried it" cakes that never makes it back into the "I want" list.

We spent the day being lazy. She had movies she wanted to watch - "Father of the Bride" 1 and 2, followed by "Two Weeks' Notice." I slept through most of the Father movies. That's fine. They make me cry. Too close to home, I think.

Did a couple of loads of laundry. My washer has started to leak around the top of the tub. When it spins, water leaks under the top lip and down the outside of the tub, which then ends up on the floor. I had intended to leave this washer and dryer here and buy new ones when we moved (these are about 15 years old and nearing retirement age) but I may not get to wait that long.

Tomorrow morning is the last game of this home stand. Whew! It's hard work being a baseball fan!

Hate having to replace appliances; always such an expense! But a new washer/dryer combo is a lovely new appliance to have, I'm sure.

Laurel's cake looks so pretty! Happy birtday, dancing girl! Hope you got away to the game and had a good time. Some of those ball players...wowzers! (Oh to be 18 again!)

Mom, I'm a crier too...
