Feel Sorry For Me!

Remember MIL, who just moved to the retirement center in another area code? We left her with a cell phone on our account with a local number so her friends could call her, with instructions to call out if she needed, but if her friends call in to her, the minutes are free. Apparently, the friends started doing the "I always have to call you, you never call me" whine, so MIL started dialing out. MIL doesn't know when to turn it off. MIL's personal cell phone usage was 2,200 minutes. The woman spent 39 hours on the phone in three weeks. Granted, some were incoming calls, but she managed to use every single minute of our plan plus an extra few hundred at $.49/minute. My cell phone bill is over $500.

She's getting a landline next week. I'm keeping her garage sale profits. This is absolute insanity.

Ack! That was an unpleasant surprise I'll bet.

Whoa!!!! I don't blame you for keeping the garage sale profits, will they be enough to cover it?

The reason why I will never have a cell phone again. They are always nailing you with stuff like that! Of course, it is a wake up call letting you know how much time you spent on a phone, though! Yeesh! Land line indeed! Hugs, dear DIL!

She's had a phone on our account for several years and this has never, ever been a problem. I don't know why she decided all the rules were suddenly void. Hub & I discussed it last night and her phone is being revoked once she gets the landline. She'll have free long distance so she won't need the phone any more.

I'm bringing her back to get the last of her stuff next week, and garage sale planning goes full throttle after that.
