Hallmark Holidays

We have a joke around the house about sardines & lima beans. Hubby loathes sardines.  Ala despises lima beans. I happen to love 'em both! On those days when no one can offer adequate meal suggestions (I hate making all the meal decisions), my fall-back menu is sardines and lima beans. The grumps and groans I get in response are quite hilarious.

So Hubby sent me this ecard for Mother's Day. He said they didn't have one for sardines. Darn.

I'm not a big one for Hallmark Holidays. It just means I have to call my mother (haven't done it yet) and listen to her drone on about her barnyard friend who is the only person in this whole entire world who cares about her. Thanks, mom. Love you, too.

The plans for today were to go to the baseball game, then Villa Ravenna for dinner... same plans as last week which got rained out. Well, we got rained out again. Not actually by weather, but my my sweet girl started having a reaction to her antibiotic last night: hot, then cold, shaking, rapid heart beat, fluid loss, dizziness.... after some research we found that these are reported by many people who take erythromycin but are not listed as adverse reactions on the patient information sheet - at least not what we were given.  La is feeling somewhat better today after we stopped the antibiotic, but we postponed our plans for anther time.

I spent the better part of today and yesterday down at MIL's house using the washer and dryer. Her place smells strongly of mildew and mothballs, and my clothes now have just a hint..... yum. Ha!

Happy Mother's Day to all my friends, whether your babies are grown, in diapers, purr, bark, or you pinch hit when someone's Mom isn't there. You are an important piece of someone's life, and you are priceless!

Oh dear. Poor Laurel! Feeling crummy AND missing the hot baseball guys. Sheesh. I'm not a big Hallmark (mushy) fan either, surprise surprise. Yesterday I heard how one of my brothers is the only person in the world who makes my mom feel good about herself. Are all moms nuts??? Or is it just me???? LOL

I think our moms are trying to show us what NOT to do when raising our kids, then we'll be better moms ourselves. Yeah, that sounds good, huh?

I hope Laurel is feeling better soon. Poor kid.

I tried to call my mom, but she was too busy to come to the phone per my sister. Somehow I felt slapped. Oh well.

So when is the garage sale and what kind of goodies will be up for grabs? Just curious. :)

I just got the answering machine. I guess she was out with her BOHF (best ol' heifer friend).
