Baby, it's hot outside! It was over 103 earlier today, and the outdoor sensor is on the shady side of the house. Ouch! I feel for you guys in town. It's always cooler in the country. But then, can you really tell the difference between 103 and 105? After a point, too dang hot is just too dang hot!
Particularly exciting was waking up this morning to NO air conditioning! One of the fuses had blown to the point of melting the fuse box door. Hmmmm. Hubby made a mad dash to Home Depot and picked up more fuses. A/C is working now, but has not been able to recover all day. See? Seventy-nine and holding. Poor A/C has been cranking its little fan out all day long.
I woke up with an incredible headache this morning and it has not left me all day. What a nice headache to keep me company like this! I wanted to get the house straightened up, the laundry caught up, and then do some sewing. It hasn't happened. I think I'll try to corral some more mess so I can sew without feeling guilty.
I put together a batch of Sweet & Spicy pickles. I wish they were ready NOW. I need headache food.
I took Chester Pester to a cat vet yesterday, and she was totally perplexed by his symptoms. By the book, he should be in rough shape after 10 days of high fever. He's still perkin' along, just at a slower pace. She checked him for FIP (fatal) and said he didn't show signs, but one type was hard to diagnose. Still, he shouldn't be eating, yet he's not only eating but also getting fat. They did an ultrasound and found nothing amiss, took more blood, and I had to collect kitty poo and take back in.
My regular vet almost had a come-apart when I called to request Chester's previous blood work be faxed to this other vet. I got a twenty (count 'em - twenty) minute lecture on various asundry reasons why I was wasting my money. Sigh. It was not pretty, and the records never were sent to the cat vet.

Wow nothing worse than no AC. I don't know how our ancesters endured it. I'm glad it was easy to fix and not the compressor.
I hope Chester gets well. It's sad that the other vet was so jealous about you going to someone else.
