Encouraging news on the Dancing Daughter front: she might (emphasis on might) be dancing as early as next week.
We got in to see the physical therapist, finally, after weeks of trying to get a referral. This woman was recommended by Tulsa Ballet, and treated one of the girls in Ala's dance school. She knew immediately what was causing the problems, and guess what? It's not shin splints.
One of the bones in the ankle - calcaneous? talus? don't remember? - is supposed to slide back when the foot is pointed. La's doesn't. The result: extreme tension on the muscle that runs down the front of the leg, inability to stretch the calf muscle, tendency to pronation which is why she kept twisting her ankles when she landed after leaps..... The physical therapy angel knew exactly what was happening, and she said that with Ala's new custom orthotics and some new exercises, she might be dancing again next week.
Cool!We went to our favorite burger place, Ron's in The Farm Shopping Center in Tulsa, to celebrate.
Neither good news nor bad news for Chester. His blood work came back negative on everything, and he doesn't even have elevated WBC's. Doc changed his antibiotic and he's had three doses of the new. He's still eating and drinking, but I noticed yesterday that his eyes remain dilated even in bright light. That coupled with his bloated belly and persistent fever causes me to think there's still something that's been missed. I've been giving him Nutrical with probiotics mixed in, and tonight I added a little Hawthorne in case of high blood pressure. I found a cat specialist in Jenks, and if Chester hasn't shown marked improvement by Friday morning, I'm calling them. Since he was moving around a little more today, I'm crossing my fingers that he'll continue to improve and not relapse like he did last week.

I'm glad about your daughter and sad about your kitty. I hope they find out what is wrong. My DH says that too, "if it'll make you happy." Nice guys!
