I got a compliment on my hair today! A customer just raved about the color, au natural silver. She had a lot of white hair, too, but she said she had hers done that way. She wanted hers to look like mine but had to have the help of a salon to achieve it.
Reasor's grocery has been running a "10 items for $10" sale. Tomatoes (Canadian) were down to $1 a pound! I picked up about seven pounds, and today I blanched, peeled, chopped, bagged, and froze them to use later in soups and chili. I chose to leave the seeds and jelly part in. The jelly (there's a name for it but I can't recall it) is supposed to have the most antioxident power of the tomato.
We went to the Tulsa Driller's baseball game last night - it was a good game. I was actually hootin' and hollerin' which I don't usually do. Last night was a fireworks night. Several times during the season, they do a professional fireworks show after the game. The pyro-geeks set up in the outfield, and it's quite cool to be sitting practically under the explosions and sparks.
This is cool.... last night two of the Driller players were given Team USA jerseys. They're going to the Olympics to play on the US baseball team. Wow!
I gave notice at the dollar store, but the manager had the weekend off and won't actually find out until tomorrow (unless someone called and told her). One of the assistants said she didn't blame me, they expect too much work for the little salary they pay.
Chester doesn't seem to be doing very well. He perked up for a bit but has been a zombie kitty today.
