I was curled up on the couch this morning feeling sorry for myself because Tuesday's headache was still lingering when the phone rang.
Caller ID: "Dollar Store"
Oh, crap.
For a brief moment, I considered letting the answering machine pick it up. Then I answered it.
"Can you come work? So&So is sick."
Sick on the 4th of July. Yep. Uh-huh.
I went anyway. I could use the extra fifty cents. Man-o-man were we busy! Everyone in this little town waited until today to buy their holiday party goods. I stayed until three, then came home, had lunch, and went to bed with an ice pack attached to my head. Hubby, sweet guy that he is, told me I could stay home and he'd take the daughter to the game. Awww.Not long after they left, my headache let up. Now isn't that just the way it always works? So I cleaned up the kitchen, tried to vac the carpet but the vac bag is full and I can't find where I stashed the replacements, gave the Porky Yorkie a haircut, let the kittens out for a romp, spent some time with Eleanor Burns on the DVR, and tried to put some quilt blocks together. The tension is way out of whack on the old Singer, the one Ala sews on, I'm thinking it's the bobbin which requires a screwdriver which requires me to get up and lumber into the bedroom to get Hubby's itty bitty screwdriver set..... and I never got that far.
Maybe tomorrow.
Hub and La came home with fun stories about the ball game. La wants to go to another (she has fun watching the guys). The next fireworks game (show after the ball game) is July 26, so I bought tickets for that one.
Hope everyone had a fun & safe holiday!

Sorry you had to work and had a headache. That's no fair.
I hope you're feeling better.
I hope you feel better today. It's the pits to have to work on a holiday.
I didn't really mind working. It kept me from laying around the house all day.
Headache comes and goes. Bla.
