Sunday I missed spotting an asphalt-gray road rocket flying down our county road and sub-sonic speeds, and he missed my front bumper by mere inches. He was either traveling so fast he didn't register in my brain, or when I did the "look right," he was behind the truck's side mirror. For whatever reason, I pulled out of our drive a little more slowly than usual, giving him the nanoseconds needed to fly past without collision. Had I pulled out at my normal speed, he would have plowed right into my precious daughter who was in the passenger seat. God looks out for birds and fools, and he was surely watching over me on Sunday.

Oh boy! Isn't that scary? I'm so glad you didn't get hit.
The whole thing was really odd...
Then, driving down the road, my head filled with all kinds of panicked "what if" thoughts. When I drive the truck, I'm certainly going to be mindful of the passenger mirror!
