My Easy-to-Please Hubby

I really thought I was copping out for dinner tonight. I threw some Schwan's popcorn chicken in a pot of hot oil, opened a can of biscuits and stuck 'em in the oven, then made gravy with the dregs of cooking oil. Stove to table: 15 minutes.

Hubby got halfway through his plate of food, looked at me, kinda waved his paw over his plate, and said, "So, what brought this on?" Uh, you no like? "Actually," he said, "this is a departure from your usual cooking. I'm wondering how much more I can eat without eating so much I make myself sick."

And I thought he wouldn't like it.

Actually that dinner sounded really good to me too! I'm a meat and tators person. I have to force myself to eat veggies.

I'm one of those "feel guilty if I don't make a balanced meal" people, even though we eat our share of hot dogs and frozen pizza. The popcorn chicken usually goes on top of a big salad. I love biscuits and gravy but hate the idea of all the flour and grease. Why couldn't broccoli taste so good?
