Sewing Room Progress!

I spent most of Saturday's productive time (time not sitting on the couch) trying to find the sewing room. While it's not entirely completely 100% organized, I can walk in, turn around, reach all the machines, and get to stuff without having to climb, move, or trip over mess.

We delivered the chest of drawers to #1Son on Friday. The chest was big, bulky, and took up too much space to work well in my room. Once that was gone, I had an entire wall to play with! I'm still lending storage to Ala's queen sized headboard, but at least it has shelves, so it's functional without having a deep footprint.

To wander a bit: whoever invented baby food jars is a genius! They are indispensable when it comes to storing beads, needles, thimbles, anything small that will easily get lost. My babies are grown, but to this day, I love Gerber Hawiian Delight and Dutch Apple Dessert. (blush) When I told Ala I was out of baby food jars, she got happy, as she's a Dutch apple fan, too. My next storage device for the room will be an over the pantry door-style wire shelf unit to house all the baby food jars. Oh, and more Hawiian Delight and Dutch Apple Dessert!

The headboard is on the wall opposite the window (first pic). On the wall to the right of the headboard is the big Singer, to the left is the closet, wasted space covered by the door, and a shelving unit full of more incredible junk.

After I put the finishing touches on the room, the next task is to tackle the closet. Ewwww!
But, enough fun for this weekend. Accounting homework is calling.

Hooray for progress!

Your room looks great. I think we all have a closet like that somewhere in our homes. I know I do.

Your sewing room is a lot neater than mine. Mine has garage stuff in it. Tools, junk for the car, a bicycle, boxes, etc. I usually move the sewing machine to the living room when I want to sew. I love your room though!

After it was too late, I decided I should have taken a "before" picture.

Unfortunately, all my closets look like that. :(
