Down the road and around the corner...
then down the road and around the next corner...
and down the road and make the next corner...
and then go down the road a stone's throw...
Follow those directions from my house and you'll come across this little ramshackle house from a long gone era. The acreage that is home to this place had been for sale for several years. It finally sold, so I figure this little place will be gone in the not too distant future. Kinda sad, ya know? Through the front door is visible the hole in the wall where the pipe from a wood burning stove passed through to the chimney. I wonder who gathered around that stove on cold winter nights, and what they did to pass the time? I wonder who lived there, what they did, why the house was abandoned, and what became of the people. I'm funny that way.

Whenever I see an old house I wonder about the people who used to live there too. I would love to explore them if I could avoid getting caught trespassing.
EXACTLY! This house sits very close to the road and it's not fenced. I may have to go peek inside some day soon.
I love old houses. Like schnauzermom, I also wonder about the people who called them home.
