I decided to take a walk on the wild side and make some candles. My fragrance of choice was Wild Berry Musk. Very Hobby Lobby smelling. Alatariel turns green when I get my candle toys out. It saturates the house for days.
And days.
And days.
Hubby says it's done a great job covering the litter box.
I took the picture while they were still warm so the color isn't set. Neither are the tops. They're soy, so they'll crack and get ugly before they're ready to use.
And just so you don't think I'm exaggerating when I talk about the total mass confusion and chaos in my haven, The Bead Room.... I'm going to share one of my darkest secrets. I took a pictures of the room. Remember, this is MY space, the room where Hubby stands at the door and pitches things when he's motivated to clean house. Why does he never do that to his space?
Seriously, it's no wonder I can't get the room cleaned up. There's a large black garbage bag tied to the door, and this weekend the bag is getting stuffed full of most of this crap and it's getting the heave-ho.
There - on the left - next to the shorts that need to be mended - that's Nana's sewing machine. It will sew sheet metal and lumber, but I have no idea how to operate it. It has a tray somewhere that has to be full of oil. It's also covered in cobwebs and dust bunnies. I've inquired several places trying to find someone who can tell me how it works, but to date I've been unsuccessful. Even Singer was unresponsive. Of course, my mother knows how it works, but hell would freeze over before she'd come up here and show me anything.
I suppose if we have the 80th birthday bash for her, I'll have to approach her about it. Need to do it soon, before the mind goes completely.

What make and model is the machine? Maybe I can find something out for you by hunting and pecking.
That would be cool!
Risking life & limb, I climbed in there to search for numbers. The only thing on the machine itself is 241-12 on the medallion on the front of the machine. Lots of other numbers on the motor and transmitter, but nothing else on the sewing head itself.
I took a picture when we moved it in that room 2 years ago. I'll see if I can tack it on to the post.
For $8 you can go here http://www.mastersewusa.com/info_s241_largesize.html and download a PDF of the manual.
Do you know what year it was made? Is there another little plate with a serial number on it?
Scratch that last comment.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
It never occurred to me that the manual was online somewhere. You are ever so resourceful!
I don't know when the machine was made, but I think it's older than I am. When I can get to it better, I'll clear out the cobwebs and see what else I can find on it.
Thanks again!
Glad I could help. That's a pretty handy site.
While I was there I downloaded the booklet for my treadle. I haven't used it in a couple of years and my memory is shot.
That is a very cool looking machine. My grandmother had an old treadle Singer machine. I don't know who got it when she died. That room looks familiar, I have one like that.
You mean I don't have the only totally trashed junk room in Oklahoma? Whew! I feel better now! ;)
I'm still wishin' I'd been able to get the treadle I found, but it's just not in the stars right now. I guess four machines is enough. For now, anyway!
