We had our trip to the city yesterday but it was pretty fruitless. The thrift stores I wanted to visit are close to TU, and we got there around game time. I wasn't that interested in battling the traffic, so I rescheduled that adventure for another day.
We walked through a couple of the shops in Jenks but didn't find much we couldn't live without. Alatariel found a lovely pink Fenton ruffled dish for $45. It stayed where it was. If it's still there next payday, I might pick it up for her for Christmas. I found a carnival glass candy dish for $18 - identical to one I found at Goodwill for $3. Most things in Jenks these days are a little over priced.
While we were gone, Hubby did all the laundry for me. When I came home, you know what I did? Yelled at him for it. I had asked him to not do one load so that I could put my jeans with that load and get them washed. So, when I came home, he'd done all of the wash. Now, what kind of shrew am I to gripe at my husband for doing all my wash? I quickly realized the error of my ways, fortunately, and turned it into a joke. Today he's still laughing about doing the laundry and getting yelled at for it. At least he's laughing. I almost blew it.
At the library I picked up some books that are on the Amazon top 100 list. Falling Man is about 9-11 and got mostly 5 star reviews. I read a few pages last night and was not impressed with the writer's style. Fragmented and choppy. Annoying to read. ;) He apparently has been bestowed with numerous writing awards, undoubtedly by people who flunked English class. Kite Runner is about a family in Afghanastan around the time of the Russian invasion. The other one is something like The God of Animals, about a young girl who has a rough life. I hope to read them if I can stop playing Sudoku long enough.
I got a bill for the breathing test which the insurance didn't pay. Two-hundred smackers to spend 10 minutes blowing into a rubber tube. I swear, I'm in the wrong business! There's another four hundred coming in from somewhere, probably the MRI, and my little trip tomorrow is going go net at least three-seventy-five. I still have an ECG scheduled for next month; more money. I guess the awesome treadle sewing machine isn't in my future. Dang it.
Last night we watched "Stranger than Fiction." While I'm not a Will Farrell fan, this is not his typical movie. It was entertaining without being peppered with profanity and suggestive innuendos. There was premarital sex, but it was tastefully done (as premarital sex goes!) without any graphics. The movie had some good chuckles, and I was really wondering if the character was actually going to die and how badly it would reek if he did. It was enjoyable. Maggie Gee-in-haul reminded me a lot of Amanda Bines. Emma Thompson did a great job playing the neurotic writer, and the thing with Dustin Hoffman and the coffee - well, you'd have to see it.
Today I've done zilch. I did cook breakfast and lunch: ham, eggs & toast; fried chicken breast, homemade hand-cut french fries sliced to wonky perfection with my new Ginsu knives :) , green beans seasoned with ham.
Maybe I'll go see if I can cut a path through the bead room. Again.

We do the same thing. DH does something nice and I snap at him because it's not how I would have done it and he does the same thing. We call it mowing the yard. I'll have to tell that story one of these days.
Can't wait to hear!
