Sewing Challenged

I wonder if being Sewing Challenged is a legitimate handicap? Maybe I can file for disability.

First of all, I'm so danged near sighted that, without glasses, I practically have to put my nose on the needle to see what I'm doing. I need those charming multi-focal glasses to see anything up close with glasses. Even then, I can't tip my head back far enough to get the fabric area in focus.

So, I end up with a crick in my back, stiff shoulders, and needle punctures in the tip of my nose.

I should be getting a free check for my miseries.

Next, I'm challenged when it comes to running the machine. I'm going to have to find the danged instruction video and re-learn how to program the thing. Aunt Jo & Seabear, this is both your faults. :)

I started a second Morsbag this evening. Ran out of thread on the bobbin. Took me 10 minutes to figure out how to reload. Even then, the thread got hosed up and I ended up pulling yards and yards of Premium Priced thread from JoAnn's ($5 for two little spools, heaven help me) just to get the snagged part off the bobbin.

But I finally got it worked out, started sewing up the top of the bag, and then Alatariel needed me.

She has a "Friend" (term used loosely) who is absolutely smothering her. It was time to clear the air. Email, of course; joint collaboration. Quite a literary prizewinner, if you ask me.

Class was class tonight. One of the other students was complaining that we weren't really learning anything, so it's not just me. Oh, well, I'm independently wealthy. Tuition is just a drop in the bucket for me.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

I hope your nose heals up soon! lol It is really frustrating to have the machine jam up and then you have to dig out the instructions. That happens to me quite often too.

My nose is feeling better now. Thank you SchnauzerMom! :)

I managed to finish a bag this evening with no significant screw-ups! Yay me!

Poor thing!

I had heck with my Pfaff and so I finally sat down and wrote a note to myself in my blog, telling myself what the problem was and how to avoid it or fix it. Happily, I haven't had any more problems.

Good job on finishing another bag. I still have some to sew from the ones I cut out. I just don't have enough hours in the day.
