Over the weekend, Hub and I took Alatariel to the OKC championship feis. Ala didn't dance, she hasn't been studying long enough, but we wanted to see all the "goings on." It was pretty cool. I enjoyed it more than Hub did, and Ala got sick and spent most of the weekend in bed in the hotel. I had wanted to see my little brother & family, and son & Dil, but we just came back home Sunday without any visiting.
I did have a nice phone visit with Sil, though. Butter is doing great. She said the girls are all over him all the time and he's very tolerant of their attentions. Sil asked if I'd talked to Mother - noooo. Apparently Ma called their house one Sunday am recently. Knowing sil and the girls go to church, she was trying to get Little Brother to answer the phone. He didn't. Next ploy was to call Sil's cell and tell her to have LB call her back. Sil passed along the message, and LB flatly refuses to call. Of course, Ma only sees that he's not calling, so it has to be sil's fault. Ma doesn't realize that LB doesn't want to listen to her nonsense; Ma thinks instead that sil won't allow LB to call.
We did make a stop at Books A Million, however. I picked up a vb.net book to have as a backup for my class. The instructor didn't require the book, and of course, the text from the bookstore was a cool C-spot. This one will serve as a reference to what's being taught, and it only set me back forty dollars.
I signed up one of my Avon customers as a rep today. I've been after her to do it for a while. I finally told her we were considering moving and she'd have to go back to the Evil Avon Lady in town. She wasn't open to that idea, so she took on the challenge. I'm turning over some of my customers to her.
If I can recruit a few other of my customers to become reps, then I can get into the upline-downline business and maybe like it better. I love Avon stuff but I loathe getting out and delivering orders. If I could get them all in one swoop, I'd be happy, but naturally that doesn't happen. Want to be an Avon lady? Only takes a $10 investment and you save $$$ on stuff!
My kitties are growing like crazy. The one little tuxedo kitty, BK's twin from a different litter, is the runt. After playing with the other hog kittens, picking her up is like picking up air. #1Son called about the calico and wanted me to bring it over right away. Poor thing is barely a month old. She's not going traveling yet. He wants her as soon as she's weaned, but I may keep her 'till she's about 12 weeks. She'll be moving in with a Husky-sized dog, so she needs some growth before taking on that challenge. Besides, I don't want to let her go. :(
Hair Notes: It's still there. The layers are close enough to the hemline that maybe I can stop chopping on it long enough for it go get some serious length. I can't see that I've gained that much in the past year. The length on my nape still has 1-2" of hair color on the ends, so I've been pretty aggressive with the scissors, trimming 4-5" over the last year. Got to stop that!
Over the weekend, I did WO so I could wear it up. It buns better if it's slightly coated. Only problem is that I forgot to skip the coconut oil when doing WO. By Sunday evening it was smelling pretty nasty. Yuk.
Work is draggin along. Hub is at the office again this week. He's been interviewing consultants recently. I think he's a little put off by the fact that he's been with the company almost 10 years and they're going to bring in a consultant that will be paid almost double what he's getting. Acutally, when considering the hours Hub works, his salary should be more in line with what the consulting rate is.
I'm ready to move. He keeps saying things like "I'm already overloaded...." I guess he thinks he's going to have to do the work for the move. I plan to do it all, I just am having trouble finding the motivation, which is directly tied to the back and leg pain, which contributes to the tension headache, which saps my motivation.... The appointment with the new doctor is Monday morning. I hope she works miracles!
There's an adorable 2 story house about 1/2 hour from the office that I would love to have. It'll be a miracle if it's still on the market when we're ready to move. It's rural, but the acreage is small, so there's no telling who could become neighbors, or who the neighbors are already. That's what happened here - we were the only people for 1/2 mile or more any direction, until the relatives sold their part of the inheritance and now we are basically next to a mobile home park. Ignerrunt redneks got taken to the cleaners on the sale, too. Serves 'em right.
Well, tomorrow is trash day (love hauling the trash in the trunk of the car - Hub has the truck) and Schwan Lady day, and Hub might come home tomorrow evening so I must do some house cleaning. It'll be a 4-Advil and Mega Coffee day for me.
