Move Update

It's done, mostly. The movers finally showed up about 9:30 Monday morning (after I had to go get them and lead them to the house.... three men.... of course they got lost). They packed the truck to the gills, and still we left things behind. Got it all unloaded at the destination house about 8:45 that night, and they still had a 3 hour drive back to Tulsa. Better them than me, ya?

The furniture suffered minimal damage; some trim dislodged, the damper pedal on the piano isn't working, and they dumped machine oil all over the carpet when they attempted to lay my commercial sewing machine on its side to wrap it. Duh. Now the vacated house smells like a machine shop.

Hubby and I are ships passing in the night. We still have pets at the old place, and the daughter is at the new place. He loads up a vehicle with leftovers and takes it while I come back for another load. Tomorrow we'll trade places.

I have the unpleasant task of dealing with cats. They aren't all going to make the trip, and it breaks my heart. The three feral house cats just have to go down. I could probably place the kittens by sitting outside PetsMart one afternoon. That leaves a few more to go. Go where? I hate to think of the options. I've advertised them for months and have gotten either no response or in Duckie's case, the adoption went sour. I'm at my wit's end.

I'll think about that tomorrow.

Tonight I get to sleep on the floor, all by my lonesome, plus one porky Yorkie and a bunch of crazy cats.

Oh boy. My heart hurts for you and your kitties. And ugh...putting the stuff just where you want it can be fun but really tiresome and stressful too, especially if you don't have enough space to set it all up or put it all away or store it! Hope that it goes quickly for you! Good luck today, Annie...

If I wasn't up to my eyebrows in stuff with Mom right now I'd come help somehow. Good luck with the cats. I know it's hard.

I'm sorry you can't take all the cats with you. I hope that somehow there will be a good outcome.
