I'm so sick of painting! The place isn't quite finished, but it's close enough to call it "done" for moving purposes.
Here are photos of the 95% completed front rooms. I haven't done the windows and doors, and need to fill in some corners, but I can do that later. Probably much, much later.
Gotta tell ya, Aunt Jo was a blessing. She thinks she didn't do much, but she was getting paint on those walls while I was answering questions and giving directions to my hubby and dear daughter (not always in the kindest of voice, sorry!). If it hadn't been for her, I would probably still be staring at primer. Thanks, Jo! You don't know how much I appreciate your help!
We did a little "porch settin' " Saturday night, and with the lights on in the house, it looked really pretty from outside.
Ala's "mint hint" green room is nearly complete - close enough for moving in. She's thrilled with it, particularly her ceiling light upgrade.
Aunt Jo came over Saturday morning and we painted until about 4 in the afternoon. I was getting pretty pooped when she said she needed to go tend to her hubby. We had put up one coat of paint on the living room ceiling, using almost all of a 2 gallon bucket of Behr ceiling paint. After she left, Hubby and I went to Wal Mart and picked up some ceiling paint. Supper at Lucille's Roadhouse followed. After three large glasses of very strong tea, I was rearin' to go. I got the ceiling finished and recruited the other two family members to do some spot painting. Ala had about had her fill of paint, but Hubby had yet to dampen a paint brush. It was his turn.
The first coat of ceiling paint was pretty thick, but I didn't realize that the second bucket (different brand) wasn't so syrupy until I pressed a loaded roller against the ceiling and paint rained on my head. Poured. Flooded. You name it, the paint did it. I'm so glad I had a big ol' drop cloth on the floor.
By this morning, I was achy, sore, tired, puffy (lots of salty restaurant food), still had to clean up the paint mess so the place was mover-ready, and then drive back here. Aunt Jo lucked out and got the day off. We got the place squared away, and I managed to keep my eyes open 'till we got here. Trust me, it was a challenge for a good part of the way!
This evening we watched "New In Town." Very nice movie.
This coming week is packing! Aaagh. I'm starting to get stressed. I have so much crap in this house, and I spend 15 minutes of every hour with an ice pack on my back. Sucks getting old.

Boy do I ever agree with that last line! I have to tell you; that green you ended up with on your wall is fabulous! I think that when we ever get around to painting this place, that is going to be a room color for sure. It will be over soon, darlin'. You are doing great and keep up the good work!
Your house looks great! Soon you will be all moved in, then you can rest.
I can't wait until I can come over. It looks so clean and new.
Looks good! Sorry I couldn't stay longer and do more.
