Meet Ted. Ted adopted us a couple of weeks ago. He appeared on the back porch, meowing at the open window, asking for someone to come out and feed him. Poor thing was dirty, scrawny, and covered in ticks. So, well, you know me.....
Ted's pretty beat up looking. His face is scratched up, and he has notches in his ears. Sadly, he's a sweet little cat, and it's clear that he's been abused. When we pet him, he nuzzles for a bit and then bites. Scold him and he'll flinch.
I took him to the vet last week and had him de-jeweled and vaccinated. He's had his dose of Frontline so the ticks have fallen off. Did I mention he was wearing a collar?
How'd I come up with his name? Mr. E Ted Kitty.... Mister E Ted Kitty..... Mistereted Kitty.... Mistreated Kitty.

I think he's a handsome kitty. I'm glad he gets to live with you.
Poor baby. I hate that people mistreat their animals. I do so hope you and Mr. E will get along beautifully. Animals need to be loved. Thank you for getting him dejeweled too. Does he have his front claws? I ask because sometimes cats that have been declawed will bit instead of scratch...
Interesting - I haven't looked at his paws. I'll see if he'll let me play with his feet tomorrow. Ted tries to get in the house every time the door opens, so he was a house cat in his previous life.
I never declaw cats and don't let mine go where they might be declawed. I adopted a declawed kitty once (a gorgeous exotic short hair) and he refused to use the litter box. He went all around it, and all up and down the hallway. The vet said it was because it hurt his paws to scratch in the litter. The vet finally adopted him 'cause we couldn't keep up with the mess.
