Funny How Things Evolve

Over the weekend, Hubby got an email from American Airlines for discounted tickets to certain European locations, one of which is Dublin. The three of us could go round trip for about $600 each. I asked the resident Irish dancer if she would like to go to Dublin this summer. After she stopped screaming, she asked, "Couldn't we go somewhere else?"

After we knocked around some ideas, we decided that we had too much on our plate this summer, what with moving, getting MIL in an ALF, trying to rehome a dozen sweetheart cats, and, who knows, keeping puppies???

Years ago, we promised La that, when she graduated, we'd take her on a trip. We talked about Germany, Russia, Ireland, England, the destination changed every few months. Eventually the idea fizzled out.

Well, it's taken on new life.

Looks like we're going to Italy in 2010. Of course, the destination may change a few times, but Italy is looking pretty good. La has checked out from the library several travel guides for Italy, along with "learn Italian" audio courses.

This seems really odd to be planning such a trip.

First order of business: Passports.
Second: Lose weight, get in shape.
Third: Find money.

Wow! I just know you will have a most fantastic time, both in the planning, in the dreaming, and in the reality! What a great gift!

Ah yes, money, that does complicate things doesn't it? I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip, wherever you go!

It's still a long way off. We'll see how many times the plans change over the next year!

How exciting! I'm sure you'll have fun despite the changing plans.
