Sleepy Saturday

We've had some nice showers come through last night and this morning. It makes for a lovely, sleepy Saturday morning. I was up before anyone else this morning, enjoying the quiet solitude, the calming sounds of the rain kissing the roof of the house.... then hubby got up and turned on the television. Oh, well.

I got in some sewing time last night. I unearthed one of the collections of fabric squares I bought on Ebay, long buried under the mountain of fabric in my sewing room closet. We'll see what comes of them.

I also took the gold quilt block I made in the disappointing sewing class, added a border, and intend to make it into a pillow cover. I doubt that I'll quilt it; probably will leave it as is.

The hummers aren't as abundant this year, but I only have two feeders out. We're using about a gallon of nectar a day. Hubby has been looking for large capacity feeders, but they're way pricey! We need one that will attach to a 2 liter pop bottle.

At night, I put a scrap of wood in front of the bedroom door to keep my bevy of kitties from scratching at the door (Bitsy has clawed up the carpet). The wood is about 14" tall. Last night Chester was sitting on the outside of the barrier. I called him in, and he hopped over like there was nothing to it. This is a good thing!

Since I'm not a fan of soccer, I think I'll do some kitchen maintenance and then try to get in some sewing time before work.

TTFN!

The bird looks funny sitting still, I'm used to seeing them flying around.

I love that picture! I took it a couple of years ago but he still makes me laugh.
