I Lost This Week Somewhere

I didn't realize I'd been in hiding for so long!

Chester
On Monday, Chester was extremely bloated and in obvious pain, growling and moaning when I'd rub his belly or hold him on his back. Another trip to the vet and a couple of x-rays later revealed that Chester required a poopectomy. Dr. Vet said he could be developing mega colon, which might indicate damaged nerves from whatever he got into. She said the weak back legs also indicated nerve damage. This time I finally cried in front of the vet. We discussed options, and Chester got his 150 cc of warm soapy water. He had some quality time in the litter box once we got home, and the procedure relieved some of the bloat. He hasn't blown up again, so maybe it's not critical.

On the up side, he's playing, purring, and trots to me when I call him. I had the feather toy in my hand yesterday and he jumped for it - not something he's done in a while. He still acts brain damaged sometimes, other times he acts like Chester. His eyes are starting to constrict. You can see in the picture how dilated he's been. I was a bad kitty-mommy and took his picture with flash. Sorry, Chester Pester!

All she wants to do is dance
My girl is a dancin' fool. She's ecstatic that she's dancing again, thanks to Melanie Seaman at South Tulsa Physical Therapy. She's accomplished in three weeks what one family doctor, two orthopedic specialists, and one physical therapist couldn't do in nine months.

My dear La has been so discouraged over the past months, afraid she'd never be able to dance again. What made it worse is that the girl who caused so much trouble last fall has won a couple of competitions and moved up a level. Salt in the wound, that one was.

But that gal better look out! Half of our living room is now a practice floor and La won't be behind for long!

Work
Well, it's a little strange. One of the people I hired just before I left the vitamin store has been extremely upset that I've come back. She chewed me out Monday, for what reason, I don't know. Apparently she feels I'm going to take all her hours away from her. Well, that ain't gonna happen. During her tirade, she let me know about all of her personal & family problems..... And this is my fault because???? Apparently she's not taking her meddies. After a long discussion with the manager, we decided she and I should not have overlapping shifts. This is actually a good thing, as I don't think we worked well together to start with. The day I turned in my application, I asked that I not have to work with her. Now she's taken care of that. Hmmm... God works in mysterious ways!

I'm glad that Chester seems to be doing better.
It's great that your daughter can dance again. I hope she wins some competitions.
I'm happy that you don't have to work with that awful person!
