...that the family is getting together to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. Anyone who kept up with my musings at LHC knows that this will be an uncomfortable gathering, at best. At least we will be going to a good restaurant and I intend to enjoy the meal.
Speaking of food, I've lost 11.5 pounds by today's wonky scale reading. That's the number I finally settled on, anyway. Depending on the way I held my mouth, I could report anywhere from 11 to 22 pounds. Twenty-two would be great, but that would also mean ten since I last weighed on Tuesday. Nah.
I think a new scale is in my future.
I went back to the craft mall yesterday and set up the shelves that I bought. Have I whined about that? The missing Christian CD's, Christmas votives, VHS movies, and bath & body items? I've lost enough to thieves to have covered booth rent for more than three months. It just made me sick. I talked it over with the girls at the store, talked it over with Hubby, and decided to stick it out a bit, but only display items that were too big to fit in a pocket. To make the story longer, I'd dragged the shelves in, surveyed the damage, and dragged them right back out. Yesterday I dragged them in again, and put out some Fenton items for sale. I also asked for a booth in another part of the store after the first of the year - one that's more in view of the cameras, and on the busier side of the store.
Keep your fingers crossed.
I did more mending tonight in my half-clean sewing room. :)

I feel your pain. Good luck with the gathering. Maybe it won't be as bad as you think.
I did the craft mall thing when we lived in NM. I stuck it out for two years and lost more stuff than I ever sold.
It always amazed me how people would tear stuff up just for the sake of being hateful.
Good luck.
I had a gel candle and a couple of refills packaged together in cello to sell as a set, and the wrap was torn to shreds. I don't understand what they needed to see. It was all visible.
The thing that gets me is that my step-SIL has a booth at the same place and she makes money hand over fist. She's on the other end, so I tend to think location might play a part.
Thanks for the good wishes for today.
I hope the birthday party went OK. Family gatherings can be so stressful.
It's a shame about the Craft Mall. Security isn't very good there, is it?
One question, are you able to get onto LHC? I haven't been able to for a couple of days now. Just wondering if the site is down.
I finally got on to LHC this evening but hadn't been able to in a couple of days.
The mall has signs up that says they have security cameras, but I don't know if they really work. Where my booth is located, once you step inside, you're out of sight of all the cameras. Just a poor location.
