The Party

Welllll.....

It wasn't too bad. My younger SIL is a very personable person and can talk to a brick wall. She kept the conversation flowing. Plus their three adorable girls where wired for sound. They were quite entertaining.

The food at the restaurant was marginally good. Their pasta is always doughy and the meatballs were slick. The spaghetti tasted like it was wearing Ragu. The lamb fries, however, were quite tasty. I haven't had any in several years. I brought some leftovers home and they were even better cold.

I gave Mom a fuzzy throw. Last winter she was always cold, even when her house was sweltering. When she opened it, she went into some story about how she asks for a blanket at the doctor's office and they give her one of those fuzzy throws.... Don't they know what blankets are?... the doctor is Chinese and the blanket is made in China so maybe it's a Chinese blanket....

WTH? There wasn't even a half-hearted thank-you anywhere.

Mom thanked my older SIL for arranging the party, then started crying. Older SIL told her I did it. Mom shot me a glance and kept going.

And I wonder how I became addicted to food.

Enough of that crap.

I had a date with Cinnamongirl last night and kinda forgot about it. I hope she's not upset with me. I remembered about 7 last night. Too late to meet for a movie by then. It's a pretty deep rut when you can't remember that it's Friday night.

We stopped at SmellMart and picked up some staples just in case we get a decent ice/snow event. Words cannot express how much a loathe shopping at that place. Unfortunately, it's about all there is between my mother's town and mine.

Things to do tomorrow: Everything.

It's a shame that your mom is so negative. Makes it hard to be with her.
It's raining pretty good here and the temp is 32 so the roads will be slick soon. I wish they would cancel church because I really don't want to get out on slick roads. If they don't then we have to be there because we unlock and lock up the place.
I still can't get on LHC. I'm about ready to just give up.

I'd want to stay home, too! It's been hovering between 30 and 33 degrees today with lots of rain. In weather like this, I'm certainly thankful I don't have to make that 35 mile drive to work any more!

Sorry about your mom. It has to be uncomfortable to be around her.

I'll bet cinnamongirl forgives you. Everybody forgets now and again.

It's sure cold and icy here. Yuck!

I've been watching icicles form on the trees all afternoon. This evening, Hubby had the nerve to ask me to go to Braums to get him a hot fudge sundae. He was kidding, but I wanted to thunk his head, nonetheless.

I'm not losing sleep over yesterday. I just consider that she's not really my mother any more.

Yes you silly girl, of course Cinnamongirl forgives you. Truth be told, she forgot until Saturday night and by then had no power.
Besides, she is lazy and hates to get out in bad weather.

BTW, let me guess..dinner at Giacomo's.

Roseanna's. Their food has never been very good, but the other sibs wanted to eat there. Mom wanted to cook but that was too scary. Sorry, mom!
