Paint Shopping

DD and I browsed the paint swatches at the Depot yesterday, and I found this photo in one of the brochures I picked up.

Take those colors and plug them in this room:
Light colors in the front room with a dark accent wall in the dining room. Barely-off-white trim, gold deco curtain rods and sheers that puddle onto the floor.

I've always wanted sheer puddles on the floor!

The light fixture has to go.

There are a couple of places I can install doors that will keep the cats out of the front of the house. This is crucial to the health of sheer puddles.

Don't you love those windows?

OK, so anyway, we went back to the Depot today and bought pint sizes (enough to try but not enough to waste if I hate it) of the colors, a pint of something that I think might go with the gold kitchen, and a whole lotta primer guaranteed to cover dark colors. Now I need to find my way back to the Green House so I can play with colors on the walls.

My currently-cat-scratched furniture will go in the family room, so once I get the walls done in the front rooms, I get to furnish it.

Dang, I wish I was rich.

What gorgeous rooms, even in red! Look at those floors and moulding! Gorgeous!

I once painted a kitchen brown (pulled a color from the multi-colored old fashioned tile countertop) with a new lino floor (shiny white with small blue/brown flowers in center...blue was also in the counter tiles) and it turned out to be the cutest room in the house. I loved it (and still miss it!)...

What a lovely home you will have. I am picturing those double glass French doors like Aunt Jo added...sigh...

Thanks. We'll see how badly I can muck it up! :P

I'm rethinking colors already. My dining furniture might fade into the wall if I put the brown where I'm considering. I've looked at paint samples 'till I'm cross-eyed.
