Granma House

This is it: my future abode. After a bath and a little paint, it'll be quite livable. It reminds me a lot of Granma's house. They lived in a green house (shingle siding) with big front porch, and (with the exception of the second story) the floor plan is almost identical, just flip-flopped. The front half of the house is 70-80 years old, with an addition behind that came along in the 70's. The kitchen is still harvest gold (thank goodness it wasn't avocado) but has a newish stainless ceramic top stove and a stainless fridge. OK, I guess I can pretend the sink is stainless until I have the ka-ching to update the kitchen.

Half of the interior rooms are painted scarlet red with white trim (that's going away first thing). A couple of rooms are bright blue, and one is blue & white with red trim. It's an odd layout, mostly due to the addition, with little rooms and cubby-holes tucked away here and there.

Owner said move in whenever. We can live there until our house sells, then buy it. How can we pass that up?

Then I look at the mess in this house..... Moving sale? I think it would be easier to just load up the dumpster and be done with it.

After the day was done, we made a quick stop by Aunt Jo's house. Oh, my goodness, her living room & dining room are gorgeous! She has graciously offered to help me spruce up the Granma house. After seeing what she can do with a hammer and nails.... she may regret that offer!

You will be near Aunt Jo??? How wonderful! I love your new little house! It is gorgeous! And homes with little nooks, crannies, and cubbyholes are the most interesting. I'm with you on changing out those paint colors poste haste though. I'm so excited for you! Now...to get your other place sold! I hope the neighbors bite!

Red walls, not my cup of tea. I think it'll be a cute house when you get done with it. I love nooks, crannies and cubbyholes.

I'll help all that I can. Just give me a holler.

I checked my driveway for your camera cord and didn't find it.

I saw a new stainless sink (still in the box) today for cheap if I'd known I'd have snagged it.

Autumn Leaves, it'll be less than 15 minutes from my front door to hers!

Aunt Jo, if you see another sink, call me!
