Better Timing?

Better timing would have been nice. I put MIL's name on the waiting list for an independent living apartment near where we're moving, and got a call the same day that there was an opening.

Pro's: We could start the move process right away, she'd be close to us, there's no wondering when something will be available.

Con's: We aren't ready to move quite that fast! It's a 2 bedroom unit, and it's really pricey, she wouldn't be able to afford to keep her car, and the facility is too far away from anything to be car-less.

While I'd love for her to be in this facility, I don't think her BFF will want to move that far out. Probably the Baptist home in OKC is going to be the chosen spot. Their wait list is only 24 names long. That could take months.

I'm shooting for the end of summer to have all this completed... her moved, the farm sold, and us moved into that house that The Boss uses to taunt me. Boss says he hasn't talked to the current residents yet. I told boss he needs to make them an offer they can refuse!
