Frugal Friday, Driving Tests, and Food

Was I frugal today? I drove carefully to minimize fuel usage. I washed zip lock bags to recycle rather than toss. I saved bread wrappers (Hubby rolled his eyes all the while). I drew the drapes on the south side of the house to cut heat infiltration, then turned up the ceiling fans and turned on the oscillating fans so the moving air would feel cooler.

Last night I set the cat trap in an attempt to capture another feral cat for alteration or termination. A can of tuna placed in the trap assures a capture by morning.

Well, this morning I had a cat. She looked, well, remarkably like the last cat I took in for spay. There are several similar feral cats here, so I couldn't be 100% sure. Well, she's trapped, so I'll let the vet decide if she's already been fixed.

They had to knock her out in order to see..... sure 'nuff, she's been fixed.

Now, what kind of dumb cat climbs in a trap twice in a row?

Anyway, while she was out, I had the vet put a collar on her, so next time she goes after the tuna, I'll know not to take her in.

I took my daughter to TCC for the reading comprehension test required to get her driver's license. She needed to score at an 8th grade level to drive. She tested at college level. She was pretty happy.

Afterwards, we had lunch out at our favorite Chinese restaurant where we ate entirely too much. Entirely. Way. Yummm.

The drive back home was miserable. We were full, sleepy, it was sunny and hot.

Tomorrow Hubby wants to rent a chipper from Home Depot and chip the piles of dead limbs from the ice storm. I'm praying for rain.
