I found an Etsy seller having a fabric clearance. The birds are cool, but the burgers are great! After I bought these two (yes, more stuff for my stash), she listed a piece of black with brightly colored fish on it. I want it! Sigh. Guess I'd better stop with birds & burgers until after payday.
I have achieved quilt blocks! I discovered after I finished these strips and cut the blocks that I was sewing 3/8" when I thought I was making 1/4" seams. I was sewing on my old Singer. I need to be doing this on the Designer. I'm sure I have a 1/4" foot for that machine. I just have to figure out which one it is! At any rate, I'm not overly distressed over the goof. It's going to the new grand baby and I'm sure will be treated with little regard.
Meep is my cutting, sewing, ironing helper. She looks somewhat like a Boston Terrier peering over the ironing board.
40% Hobby Lobby coupon this week! Happy dance!
Today was a productive day. After a couple of Advil and a Darvocet, I cleaned my laundry room. It's not spic & span by a long shot, but the cabinet is cleaned out and all the miscellaneous junk that had accumulated is either put away or thrown away. I can actually get to the washer and dryer without climbing over crap. The top of the dryer is cleaned off, dusted, and the water distiller now resides on the dryer. It had previously taken up residence on the kitchen counter right next to the sink. Doing laundry will be slightly less tedious.
I also managed a couple of miles on the treadmill.
I'm in the middle of the third Elm Creek Quilts book, Cross Country Quilters. The second, Round Robin, made me cry, as did the first. I haven't teared up much with the third, but I'm only half way through. I've already reserved the next trilogy through the library. There's a Christmas book, however, that I found out takes place between the first two volumes. Now I have to back track.
Checked out and waiting in queue to be read: Leadville Lady and Rhett Butler's People. I've got a lot of reading to get done this week.
I believe Hubby has signed us up for an advanced pistol class with TDSA this summer. Hence, the treadmill revival today. I've only gone through one-day classes shooting 500 rounds, which are pretty taxing on this old fat woman. AP is 2 days, 1500 rounds. In July. Yikes.
Cats are bouncing off the walls. Time to put them to bed.
