I looked online for some bargains on cotton flannel. Couldn't find any. I seriously have a hard time convincing myself to pay five or six dollars a yard for flannel. I can pick up clearance priced flannel sheets for a better price than that. Looks like I may be doing just that.
My little holiday weight jump has mostly come back off. I'm at 13 pounds lost - one more to get to my pre-Christmas weight. December set me back a few weeks, but it was worth it. I had family fun and one heckuva good pecan pie. This year I used a recipe from a book I'm reading. It was actually quite good. It used both light and dark corn syrup, and most of a stick of butter. No wonder the scale jumped 5 pounds!
Tomorrow will probably be the day the tree comes down. This is the first live tree that Ala can remember, and she's just been overjoyed with it. I'd refused to ever have artificial trees until 12 or 13 years ago when I found a beautiful flocked tree at Hobby Lobby. We used it for several years (what a mess!), then downsized to a little skinny one that I dragged home from Garden Ridge a few years back. Doesn't look like we'll be using it any more.

Your tree looks gorgeous. Did the kitties want to climb in it?
We always had live trees when I was a kid but now I prefer artificial.
Thanks, schnauzermom. I thought it was a bit of a "Charlie Brown" tree, but Alatariel was so pleased with it.
