My house is always cluttered, no two ways about it. There are too many things I just can't bring myself to part with. After all, I might need them someday. See those cute kitties? See the stuff falling out of the bookshelves behind them?
Now look again. This is Sunday's accomplishment. Most of the books were packed away earlier in the week, with the exception of a few that I can and will let someone else enjoy. What's left on the shelves amounts to a few things to keep the corner from looking bare. The intent is to make it attractive to a prospective buyer. Trust me, this is a BIG improvement!
The rest of Sunday was spent with Ala, helping her cull her clutter collection. It's hereditary, obviously.
UNFORTUNATELY, in the process of scooting all the junk out of the corner, I seriously messed up the other half of the room.
That's today's project.

That's a nice big room, I bet your house will sell pretty quickly. DH tends to pile up stuff and I tend to throw stuff away so we balance each other. The trouble with throwing stuff away is that I usually have to go out and buy it again.
I've discovered that the bigger the room, the more space I have to pile junk. I sincerely have issues!!
I think "today's project" doesn't look too overwhelming at least. I have lots of clutterers in my family and I tend to not be one myself. But then I am married to one guy who just doesn't see dirty stuff and the merry-go-round begins (of arguing). At least your place looks clean so that is half the battle! It is kind of fun to discover old treasures though, isn't it?
I didn't get it finished. Lower back ache and assorted other excuses.... but it's improved. I understand your hubby's poor eyesight. After a while, the clutter eventually morphs into home decor, and I just don't really notice it any more. I come from a long line of clutter keepers. My grandmother's house didn't have clean horizontal surface. Although my mother swears she was Donna Reed, I remember our house never being "kept" looking until I was in high school. Considering she didn't work, I wonder what she did all day when we were in school! :o
