Early this morning, before the sun was considering waking up, I packed Alatariel into the car and took her for a crack o' dawn dental appointment. She is now missing four wisdom teeth. I can't tell if she's any less wise. Why are they called "wisdom" teeth, anyway?
Dr. Hudson in Tulsa did the dirty deed. Very nice man, nice staff (except for the gal with the funky makeup who sits at the front desk), nice office, nice price. Nice for them, anyway.
If Citi raises the interest rate on my credit card, I'll be forced into bankruptcy.
Ala giggled for about an hour after her surgery. I don't know what they gave her, but I wish I had some for the hubby!
I mentioned Fosamax to Dr. Hudson... it has warnings about problems with the jaw bone healing after surgery. Dr. Hudson said there are problems with necrosis of the jaw bone, which is very painful. He said even though the occurrence is low, if it happens to her, it won't matter how low it was. He said the drug stays in the body for ten years, so even if she only took it for a few months, it would be working her over for years after. He mentioned class action lawsuits. He was concerned about it being given to a teenager, and said he'd be happy to talk to her orthopedic doctor about it. He said, very plainly, "don't take it." And I was only concerned about the atrial fibrillation issues. Ala decided she'd drink more milk.
We came home and watched movies all afternoon, and that's been the extent of my day.
Maybe this weekend we'll do some Christmas decorating. With so many brain-dead cats, I don't know what we can do that won't turn into a giant kitty toy. I'll try to get the Christmas cards out, too. I'm really bad about leaving them until, oh, Christmas Eve....

I've wondered why they're called "wisdom" teeth too. I hope she doesn't have any problems with her jaw and the Fosamax. Maybe you could just decorate the tree with cat toys and let them have a great time.
